Five of the Best: Motorbikes

Five of the Best is a weekly series for supporters of Eurogamer. It's a series that highlights some of the features in games that are often overlooked. It's also about having your say, so don't be shy, use the comments below and join in!

Oh and if you want to read more, you can - you can find our entire Five of the Best archive elsewhere on the site.

For many years, there was a running joke - meme, I suppose - on Eurogamer whereby people would ask if a game had motorbikes in it. For the life of me, I can't remember why that was (please to enlighten me in the comments if you know). Nevertheless, it would mean a barrage of "does it have motorbikes in it?" underneath reviews and then, when hallelujah a game did have motorbikes in, a barrage of "motorbikes!" comments instead. Or rather, "|\/|0t0rb1kes!", as the preferred styling became. I like to think this is because motorbikes are always, secretly - or not so secretly - the most satisfying vehicles in games. They are the most fun, the most daring, and those that are the most removed from our day to day lives. The question is, in which games are motorbikes the best?
